GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — A citizen’s petition is circulating Greenfield in opposition of the City Council vote to declare the Hope Street parking lot as surplus and create a Request for Proposals to solicit housing or mixed-use developer bids for the property.
The petition, led by Franklin County Register of Probate John Merrigan, will need 480 registered voters’ signatures by August 20th to get on the ballot for the November election.
Canvassers were out collecting signatures this weekend in front of the Main Street Post Office building.
