Municipal Power Choice Programs new decreased rates for 2026

GILL, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Several towns in Franklin County have released their municipal electricity supply program’s new energy supplier and long-term rates going into effect this January.

In Gill the standard supply in the Gill Community Choice Power Supply Program would cost 13.9 cents per kilowatt hour. Although the rate is higher than Eversource’s offering, it is still a decrease from the current rate saving customers an average of $8 per month.

In Colrain, the new standard supply will be decreasing to 12.9 cents per kilowatt hour, representing a $7 per month decrease on the average 600 kilowatt hour bill.
