CHARELMONT, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Hawlemont Community Gardens at 10 School Street in Charlemont were launched this summer through the Hawlemont HAY program and made freely available to the whole community, with accessible garden beds and some portable garden beds available for community members to use at their residence.
The wheelchair accessible beds were crafted by students of the Franklin County Technical School and made possible by a $3,000 grant.
A plaque has been placed at the Garden’s greenhouse commemorating Erwin Reynolds for his dedication in making the school’s HAY program a reality.
