SOUTH DEERFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The local high school football season is winding down, with games this weekend and then on Thanksgiving morning to conclude the 2025 campaign.

The Frontier Redhawks were the lone area team to qualify for the State Division 8 Tournament. Unfortunately, the Redhawks’ postseason run was a short one, as they fell at home last Friday night to KIPP Academy Collegiate of Lynn, 46-6.

The Redhawk were stymied on offense for the first time all season, as they were not able to reach positive yardage for the game until the second half. By that time, Frontier trailed 32-0, and it was clear that the Redhawks were overmatched in this one.

Friday night, Frontier will host the Easthampton Eagles in South Deerfield. Kickoff is set for 7:00. Bear Country coverage begins at 6:45, live from the Lundgren Honda Broadcast Booth at Frontier Regional.

Elsewhere, the Athol Bears are at home Friday night to take on the Belchertown Orioles. Kickoff is at 6:00 at O’Brien Field in Athol.

The Mahar Senators are also at home on Friday night, set to battle the Ludlow Lions. Kickoff is also at 6:00 at the Woodward Athletic Complex in Orange.

Then on Saturday afternoon, the Franklin Tech Eagles host Cape Cod Regional Technical in the state Vocational tournament. That game kicks off at 3:00 at the Tech School in Turners Falls.
