TURNERS FALLS, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Franklin County Technical School is proposing a new Motorcycle Technology component of their Automotive Technology Program. The school would utilize Perkins funding to expand their auto tech program through a partnership with NOVA Motorcycles, a local business in Turners Falls.
According to FCTS officials, the proposed addition of motorcycle technology and small engine repair comes in response to increased student interest along with an increase in regional workforce demand in the field that aligns with the school’s commitment to preparing students for diverse career pathways.
NOVA Motorcycle would provide the program with skilled professionals for instruction, modern equipment, and experience with real-world industry practices. The program would educate students on customization, fabrication and diagnostics and have opportunities for job shadowing or cooperative education.
