DEERFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — With Deerfield residents facing an increase in flooding incidents, the town has invited residents to a flood resiliency workshop with the Deerfield Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Core Group and the Deerfield Elementary School students who have studied Bloody Brook.
In addition to flood resiliency speakers, the workshop will also feature “Supporting Healthy Wetlands without Encouraging Mosquito Habitat, and Promoting Dragonfly Habitat” with John Briggs from the Pioneer Valley Mosquito Control District and “Massachusetts Energy Saver Home Loan Program” with Rusty Daniels from the Center for Ecological Technology.
The program on Sunday, September 28th at 1 p.m. in Town Hall will offer information and resources to the community as the town works towards its 2030 goal to become more resilient against floods and extreme heat.
