2026 WHAI “Outdoor Makeover” OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

These are the rules governing the “Outdoor Makeover” contest on radio stations WHAI, WPVQ-FM, EZ 107.5, 92.3 The Outlaw and Pure Oldies 100.5. (referred to as The Western Mass Media Group.)  Contest begins April 30th, 2026, and runs through June 15th, 2026.  The grand prize includes: a new walk-behind lawnmower (retail value $699), a new rototiller (retail value $449), a $300 gift card from Noel’s Nursery in Orange, a $1000 gift card from Sugarloaf Gardens, a $500 gift card from Home Depot.

Prize package has a total retail value of $2948.00.  Prize is not transferable.  Grand prize winner will be responsible for picking up the prizes at the individual businesses that are providing them.  Delivery service may not available.

  1. There is no purchase necessary to become eligible to win.

  1. This contest is running simultaneously on radio stations WHAI, WPVQ-FM, EZ 107.5, 92.3 The Outlaw and Pure Oldies 100.5. Listeners from all stations compete for one grand prize.

  1. To be eligible to win the grand prize, you must become one of the 100 “qualifiers” who will be entered into a grand prize drawing on June 15th, 2026.

  1. The radio stations will make a series of appearances at various area businesses between April 30th, 2026 and June 13th, 2026. At each appearance, listeners may fill out a registration form.  At each location, only ONE entry will be allowed per person.  Listeners will not be permitted to fill out entry forms for friends or family not present.  The radio stations will randomly draw 10 names at the end of each appearance.  Those names will become qualifiers.  These appearances will be promoted on the radio stations ahead of time, and will be posted on station websites. (There will be 7 sign-up locations, accounting for 70 qualifiers.)

  1. During the same time period, the radio stations will provide listeners with a “key word” each weekday (Monday through Friday) 5/4/26-6/12/26. Listeners can go to the contest page at any station website and enter that key word in the proper box.  Each day, one entry will be selected from all combined entries from that day, and those listeners will become qualifiers. (That’s one key word qualifier each weekday for a total of 30 qualifiers.) Key words can be entered each weekday between 12:00am and 11:59pm.

  1. Grand prize winner will be chosen from all 100 qualifiers through a random drawing on June 15th, 2026. Grand prize winner will be notified by phone. Prizes will be available for pick up as of June 15th, 2026, but not until the winner has filled out the appropriate tax paperwork at the WHAI studios.

  1. The Western Mass Media Group contests are open to all eligible Massachusetts/New Hampshire/Vermont residents 18 years or older that have not won anything on any of the stations in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner.  Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.

  1. Employees of The Western Mass Media Group, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the WHAI main studios are not eligible to win any contest.  Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.

  1. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.

  1. The Western Mass Media Group, Saga Communications of New England, Inc., its parent corporation, Saga Communications, Inc., their agencies, employees, and representatives absolve themselves and shall be held harmless from any action or liability arising from this contest or the prize awarded in said contest.

  1. Winner is responsible for all taxes on prize awarded. Winner must fill out the appropriate tax forms at the WHAI studios, and provide a valid photo ID before receiving the prize.

  1. Entrants must meet other legal requirements detailed in the official rules, to grant permission to use entrant’s name and likeness without compensation and to sign a release. This contest is subject to federal, state and local laws.  All of The Western Mass Media Group general contest rules posted on all station websites also apply to this promotion. The Western Mass Media Group reserves the right in its sole discretion to supplement or make changes to the rules of any contest at any time without notice and reserves the right to interpret the rules of any contest, and such interpretation shall be binding upon all participants.”
