Sy’s Fund, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports young adults with cancer by providing meaningful gifts and funding alternative therapies, as well as raising community awareness about the challenges unique to young adults who are faced with cancer diagnosis.

In 2010, Sy’s Fund was founded in memory of Keene resident Silas “Sy” River Bennett, who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 28 and passed on less than eight months later.  The organization was started as a way to pay Sy’s generous spirit forward by providing meaningful gifts to help young adults, ages 18-39, who are facing cancer retain their independence.  Sy’s Fund offers tangible gifts to make life a bit easier for those who are undergoing treatment or suffering ongoing serious medical issues related to cancer.

This year we are holding our third annual 5K walk/run: Strong Like a River at Wheelock Park.  The race starts a t 10:00 am.

To sign up please visit www.firstgiving.com/sysfund/Strong5k or come to Wheelock Park the day of the race.
