Local club gives public speakers confidence and skills

Northampton, MA – November 5, 2014 – Northampton area-based Speakeasy Toastmasters will host our Open House on March 5 at 6:45 pm at the Elaine Center, 20 North Maple Street in Hadley. Join us for this fun free event, and beyond, to our regular meetings on the first and third Wednesday of each month. Students, professionals and community members are welcome to attend.

The benefits of becoming a Toastmaster include:

Developing leadership

Opportunities to network

Improving public speaking

Learning spontaneous expression

Expanding presentation confidence

Advancing writing and memory skills

Increasing listening and effective communication

Most people need to speak well as part of their jobs and in social gatherings. Yet fear of public speaking and social phobias hold people back. At Toastmasters, you can conquer anxiety by giving short speeches on the subject of your choice before an encouraging, fun and supportive group.

About Speakeasy Toastmasters – Part of the nonprofit Toastmasters International, the Speakeasy Toastmasters chapter formed in December 1983 to help local businesspeople, students and professionals alike become more comfortable speaking to groups. Members improve their presentation skills and learn to facilitate meetings through regular practice. Membership is open to the public.
